Announcement: Nishijima Sensei's Computer is Broken
Nishijima Sensei asked me to let people know that his computer is broken and he's unable to respond to emails at the moment. He's going to get a new computer, but it may take him a while to set it up for email and his blog.
He'll post a note here when his new computer is up and running.
Regards,
Peter

春天來嚕 San,
Thank you very much for your approval of my opinion.
Dear Ran K. San,
Unfortunately I haven't read Ven. Kalo's opinion at all.
Dear Ven. Adrian San,
Unfortunately I do not know whether Tibetan Buddhism is included into Gautama Buddha's Buddhism, or not.
Thank you very much for your kindness to quote my former article into your comment.

Gudo think that consideration or perception does not arrive at The Truth, but The Truth is arrived at just by Intuition, which can work when the Autonomic Nervous System balanced.
Dear Sensei,
I hope you are well today.
In Shobogenzo Kannon, Master Dogen discusses this statement from Master Ungan Muju which describes the function of Kannon:
"He is like a person in the night reaching back with a hand to grope for a pillow."
What is your understanding of this statement, and how does it relate to compassion?
Regards,
Harry.
Dear Ven. Harry San,
Thank you very much for your important question.
And I would like to answer your question utilizing the Koan, which has been used in the Chapter 33 Kannon, Shobogenzo.
First, Great Master Ungan Donjo asked the question to the Great Master Dogo Enchi.
"What does Kannon Avalokitesuvara does do by using his limitlessly abundant hands and eyes?"
Great Master Dogo Enchi replied "He is like a person in the night reaching back with a hand to grope for a pillow."
Dogo's expression suggested that the person's behavior was as if it were making his efforts to look for the lost
pillow without consciousness.
Ungan agreed Dogo's expression.
Then Dogo asked Ungan's opinion.
Ungan said that the person's body was just hands and eyes.
These words suggested that there were no body, but there were only the fuction of hands and eyes.
Dogo affirmed Ungan's words eighty or ninety percent.
Then Ungan asked Dogo's opinion.
And so Dogo said that there were just exacting only the Real Function of hands and eyes.
This expression suggest that there were nothing other than the Real Action itsef.
And this suggested that there were nothing other than Action.
Thank you, Sensei.
I have always admired this koan for its directness and honesty... even if I didn't understand it!
Regards,
Harry.
Gudo Wafu says that when we want to get the state of balanced autonomic nervous system, it is necessary for us to get the balanced autonomic nervous system. And if we want to get the balanced autonomic nervous system, it is necessary for us to practice Zazen.
